August Long Weekend - Thursday

29/07/10-- Ottawa, Ontario

Here we go:
The Shoescape Canal Art Installation at Confederation Park, held as part of the Rideau Canal Festival this weekend. As part of the festival's Connecting Children with Heritage program, children decorated recycled shoes with their interpretation of the theme of environmental and heritage footprints.

There will be more to come from the Rideau Canal Festival. But for now, lets keep walking through town on this beautiful sunny day. Here's some of B in the Park, an outdoor pipe band concert on Major's Hill Park:

And we continue to Sparks Street Busker's Fest (my favourite part of Ottawa in the summer):

This is Mama Lou, the Strong Woman Show. It took Mama Lou 6 months of practicing everyday until she was able to rip a phone book in half with her bare hands.
